Baba is a name used in India to show respect for those who are older and whose knowledge and experience are great. In general, Babas love chai and many drink it daily. We created Baba Chai to honor the tradition of offering a gift of chai to a wise elder. It combines traditional warming spices such as ginger, cinnamon, cardamom and clove to kindle the digestive fire, with Red Rooibos tea in place of the more traditional black tea. Yogis, babas, kids and anyone wanting a deeply flavorful chai that is completely caffeine free will love this. The premium quality, freshly dried herbs make Baba Chai robust and spicy. The flavor is best when balanced with milk or milk substitute and a bit of sweetener. Alternately, add the blend to hot apple cider or use as a mulling spice for wine.*

Note to customers: The price of Cardamom, one of the main ingredients in this chai has recently skyrocketed. Due to adverse global weather conditions caused by climate change, there has been a shortage in cardamom harvests. The limited availability drives up the price. It is our decision at SSB to support those who continue to grow this beloved spice through this difficult time and this had to be carried over as a price increase. We feel you will still find the value is great as this tin of tea has 46 tsp of mix (makes 46 cups of chai), making a full flavored mug just .52 cents.

Handcrafted with:  *Red Rooibos tea (Aspalathus linearis), *Cardamom hulled seed (Elettaria cardamomum), *Cardamom pods (Elettaria cardamomum), *Cinnamon Cassia (Cinnamomum burmani),*Ginger (Zingiber officinalis), *Cinnamon Sweet (Cinnamomum verum), *Cloves (Syzygium aromaticum), *Black Pepper (Piper nigrum) and *Nutmeg (Myristica fragrans)(*Certified Organic)
